"Brought my car to Tri-City Transmission for repair as I was told by another shop what I had suspected -- the tranny was slipping. They checked it out and said the tranny was fine but the car had a plugged-up catalytic converter and that was my problem. There was no charge for this diagnostic check and I'm ever-so-grateful for their complete honesty. It makes me shudder to think that a not-so-reputable shop would slap a cheap after-market cat on it and then charge me thousands for a "rebuilt" tranny.
