Bumper to Bumper Radio, the car guys on KTAR, 92.3 FM in Phoenix, AZ, broadcast every Saturday from 11:00 am to noon. On this show, Dave Riccio of Tri-City Transmission in Tempe, AZ talks about auto inspections and getting your car serviced for what it really needs. Also on this show:

  • When getting an inspection, ask your auto shop about absolutely everything that may create problems with your car in list of priorities.
  • How long will it take to get my car completely inspected?
  • 2005 Ford Focus: I have a reoccurring problem with my warning lights intermittently coming on. We’ve taken it in to shops several times and after a couple of expensive repairs, the car is still having problems starting. Do you have any advice?
  • Acura: I had a shaking problem with the right front of the car and was told that I had a problem with my struts and motor mounts. They quoted $2200. Does this sound too expensive?
  • 2010 Nissan Sentra: My car is still pulling to the right even after getting the alignment and new tires done. Is there something else causing this problem?
  • 2005 Acura TL: About once a week, the car won’t turn over when I try to start it. Do you know what might be causing this?
  • 2003 Ford Excursion: When I’m driving, the vehicle will sporadically shut off. I can start it back up quickly but I’m not sure what could be happening?
  • 2009 Ford Flex: I have a torque strut mount and it’s in need of constant replacement. I can’t figure out why I need to replace this so often?
  • 2007 Dodge Ram 1500: While I’m driving, the transmission will automatically shift up and down and I’m wondering if there’s a sensor that might be bad?
  • Honda: I’ve been told to change the timing belt at 60,000 for severe conditions. What constitutes a sever condition? How often should I have my belt changed?
  • 2000 Honda CRV: The right side window stopped working and before I try to repair this myself, I’m wondering if there’s anything I can check that would indicate where the problem is originating?
  • 2000 Honda Civic 448,000 miles: My clutch pedal doesn’t work until I warm up the engine. Why does this happen?
